Olivia Rodrigo acaba de inaugurar la era ‘you look so sad for a girl so in love’ con el estreno de ‘drop dead’.
Esta nueva canción llega como la invitación oficial a adentrarnos en el universo que ha creado para su tercer álbum de estudio que podremos escuchar completo hasta el 12 de junio.
Su estética protagonizada por el rosa pastel, no solo marca una suave transición cromática desde el morado de sus discos anteriores, sino también representa el primer gran cambio de estilo musical en su corta carrera que deja atrás el pop-rock energético e irreverente para ceder el paso al dream pop con sonidos alternativos y melodías melancólicas.
Aunque parece que el tema central de este nuevo proyecto nuevamente será el amor, esta vez lo abordará desde la perspectiva de una persona que ya estuvo en una relación estable y sana para ofrecer enseñanzas realistas sobre lo que significa, pues la idea romantizada del amor promete una vida perfecta cuando dos almas gemelas se encuentran.
Desde principios del mes comenzó a dejar pistas de ‘drop dead’ con referencias a candados de amor en puentes de diferentes ciudades, cervezas Guinness en pubs, un viaje en tren y bombas de goma de mascar.
Por supuesto, un nombre específico de su historial amoroso resalta: Louis Partridge, el actor inglés protagonista de ‘The House of Guinness’, con quien recientemente terminó una relación de dos años. Veamos si realmente este evento canónico en su vida fue la musa de ‘ylssfagsil’.

Si creías que el primer sencillo sería un carta de desamor a Louis, revelando las razones que condujeron a su ruptura… estabas equivocada. Es una love song para bailar en tu cuarto cuando estés locamente enamorada.

Pero por ahora escucharás el inicio de su historia, cómo se conocieron en un bar tomando ceveza casi a media noche y su conexión se intensificó de camino a su casa viendo las calles de París y sus emblemáticos recinto de fondo.
